Green Business Tips

Promote your Business at Green Events

Posted in Uncategorized by kahl on November 16, 2010

So you want to promote your business and at the same time learn about new green products and services?

Then attend some green business events. There is bound to be an event near you. Check your Chamber of Commerce or look at your local events calendars. If you are not a member of any chamber then why not check out the national Green Chamber of Commerce.

I love the popular Green Festival events that are organized by environmental and social justice nonprofits Green America and Global Exchange. They take place at several locations throughout the USA a couple of times annually.

In November 2010 we just had a Green Festival at the San Francisco Concourse Exhibition Center. This event was great to learn about healthier environmental, economical and social solutions. Attendees also got to listen to some great speaker presentations, watch film screenings, and check out the many exhibit booths. You might want to consider a booth for your own business.

When you go to such events try to meet and greet people, don’t just spend the whole time looking around. Introduce yourself to as many people as you can before you run out of breath! Talk about your business, your needs and your goals. Compare products or services if possible. These events are an opportunity to network… that can lead to some business down the road.

Come prepared! Bring plenty of business cards, a positive attitude, and a willingness to approach strangers. And remember to follow up after the event!
